  • Here's a picture of a 400 LB deer somebody supposedly bagged in Maine.

  • Here's two two deer Andrew Melnychenko shot in 2009. One with a bow near Watkins, and the other with his single shot 12 guage H&R bought from Seneca Marine.

  • Over the Christmas holidays I caught some bass at Peach Orchard. They were good size, the one in the photo is around 4.5 pounds. I was fishing with a bobber and a bass shiner about 12 feet down, about 50-60 yards from shore. I was taking pictures at the time, but my bobber went past me while it was out in the lake. After setting the hook the bass jumped and splashed out of the lake 3 times. I did release the bass, and they swam off fine. Happy holidays, Steven Tarby

  • Brad Johns shot this doe on the 2nd to last day of shotgun season. She was 120 lbs. dressed weight.

  • Jeremy Munroe with a nice 9 point shot on 12/12 in the Town of Hector. Great job Jeremy!

      NOVEMBER - 2009

  • Here's a video of Dave Baranyk and Dave Vosburgh on a fishing spree on Seneca Lake Sunday morning. 15 fish caught, 12 landed! We ended up with almost 20 minutes of video. This 3 minute video is 17.7 MB and may take some time to load.

  • This bad dog was nailed in the Van Etten area by Sherry Luepelt's son-in-law George. It's got some nasty teeth and was over 60 lbs.

  • Here is young Mr. Tobe with a bruiser 2-3/4 lb. monster jack perch caught off old man Tobe's dock up the salt plant road. Way to go!!! This perch was 17-1/2 inches long.

  • Ed Cragg gave up on deer hunting Saturday morning after the only shooter buck he saw was out the window of his truck standing along the road laughing at him at 5:00 AM on his way to hunt. Then he saw how calm the lake looked, went and got the boat and ended up with this fish. Got this fish on X-Rap Bunker running 3mph in 15’ water, 10’ down. Had three other fish on.

  • Hi Bill. I wanted to share a couple of pictures that I hope you would like to put on your honor roll. The first is my son Jeremy Munroe from Hector who shot this nice 8 point weighing 133# on November 8 while bow hunting in Hector. The second one is my husband Tim Munroe who shot this great 11 point weighing 168# on November 21, opening day, while hunting in Hector. Thanks so much! Have a great Day! Margaret Munroe (your friendly Lodi mail carrier :)

  • Phil Smock and Dave Baranyk caught nine pounds of laker Saturday morning on Seneca (that's Dave holding the fish).

  • Dave Vosburgh with a nice one caught while trolling on Seneca. (yes, it IS legal size).

  • Here is Eric Davis from this trapping season. All animals were caught outside of Cobleskill, NY where he goes to college. They include his first coyote, a second coyote, his first raccoon and his first red fox. So far he and his friends have taken 4 coyotes, 3 red foxes and a raccoon off of one dairy farm. Talk about a happy farmer!

  • This is Rich Pike with an 8-pt shot 11/11 in Alpine, and a coyote shot last month w/ 22-250 at 100 yards.
    Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi BB...
Here's Jason holding yesterday's whoppers, and a photo of 3 fish I caught the day before. I have been catching lots of lakers and a few small LLs. Maybe 20 or so in the last 2 weeks on flasher fly setups in 60-80 feet of water. Yesterday all was spoon bite on cheaters off the riggers which were running 30 to 40 feet deep with the ball down 60-80 feet. The west side, 7 or 8 miles north of Watkins is dense with fish and bait. Seneca is the best. People bullshit talk about all the other Lakes, blah, blah, dragging their boats around like lost souls, but there is more water in Seneca than all the other lakes combined...duh. It is harder to fish and the devil is in the details... like currents, extreme water clarity and wind. See BB, I have gone from a complete novice to this kind of fishing to a self styled expert... $70,000 and two years later. You can buy a lot of frozen salmon at Sam's club for 70K but they are farmed and have to swim around in their own waste.
    Cheers, Andrew

      SEPTEMBER - 2009

  • We had a decent day on the lake Saturday. Water got pretty rough, 2 1/2 - 3 foot waves with 4 foot rollers and lots of white caps. We were taking waves over the front of my boat. We ended up with three fish all in the 40" range. Danny ended up with this one, 42"-44". His first musky, Virgil helped him get it out of the water. I dropped the guys off and went back out. I hook up a 48" if not bigger. I could not get a picture because of the waves. All three fish were caught on X-Raps.

  • Here are Andrew Merrill and his dad Steve. The first is a 9lb lake trout Andrew got with a Seth Green trolling between Lodi and Sampson Point. The second is a 7.5lb lake trout Steve caught using a sutton spoon while downrigging near Sampson.

  • Phil Smock got this 3.7lb beauty while trolling Seneca Lake!

  • Here is Virgils' catch of the day. He and Ed Cragg did a lot of casting over and around weed beds and points, and had quite a few follows. Virgil pulled this one in on a lure that he made. It's a copy of a Gapen's Polish Shad. The fish is in the 38" to 40" range.

  • TJ Donnell with a 30" brown, caught on a sawbellie. Nice catch!

  • Ed Cragg ended up with one fish in the boat Saturday. Had five on. Was on the water from 2:00AM to 5:45PM. Fish was caught on X-Rap (bunker).

  • Jeff Berdine reeled this 3lb. LandLocked Salmon in halfway to the TiKi Bar on the west side. Phil Smock grabbed him with the net.

  • Paul and Josh with a small mouth, a largemouth and a great bunch of bluegills and sunfish from Seneca Lake.

  • Phil Smock caught this 4lb. 5oz. laker just south of the salt plant on the west side. He caught another smaller LT (about 3lb.) but threw him back! (a first for Phil - whose motto is 'if it's big enough to swim, it's big enough for him')

  • Here is another nice largemouth.

  • The 'secret pond' by Watkins pays off again.

  • Here is Daryl and his cool Dad with 2 nice landlocked Salmon caught from the pier in Watkins with sawbellys under the bobber. Great job guys, and tasty too!

  • Here’s Bob Bernetti and friend George on a charter with Captain Mark Moskal-Summit to Stream Adventures with some nice brown trout caught while trolling Flashers with spoons and trout killers, producing 9 fish.

  • Gotta love a waxing moon. Boated 5 muskies Saturday, 3 Monday eve, and 6 Tuesday night; missed or had follows by several more on each day. All tigers, smallest fish was right around 30" but I did manage a bruiser estimated to be around 45". All fish were caught casting on plugs I build, X-raps, and 2 were taken with the fly rod (perch pattern similar to a Puglisi minnow).

  • Between boat trouble, weather, and traffic I did manage to put a few fish in the boat. The one is on a home made lure, (Virgil W. I told you I could catch one on it). I did break in a new musky hunter, Skip.

  • This is Ken Luepelt with a 4.9 lb. smallie taken above painted rocks on a crayfish 48 ft. down on the outside edge of the weeds. Sweet and fat!

  • Mark Houck is at it again with a brace of lakers pulling copper north of the salt plant about 110 ft. down, with a Reflecto spoon. 6.5 and 7.9 lbs. Not bad for the grill!

  • Daryls' dad with a feisty 23 in. 2.8 lb. landlocked salmon that inhaled a sawbelly so fast and deep off the pier in Watkins that Dad decided not to waste it with the hook being buried, so to the grill, eh!!!

  • Phil Smock and Barry Pappas caught these three beauties (two landlocked salmon and a lake trout - collectively weighing in at 9lbs) just north of the salt plant on the west side, Monday night.

  • Here's Phil Smock with a nice 4lb 10oz lake trout. Dave spotted the hit on the pole, Phil reeled it in, and Mike netted it!
  •

  • Here is another pike caught by Mathew Seeley on July 2nd at a local pond. It weighed in at only 8-10 lbs.

  • We did not place in the tournament but the guys had a good time on the lake. The 1st fish is 30". Ian and his family went out Saturday. The weather did not cooperate, but I did make a new musky hunter. The second picture was taken on Saturday late in the day. We would not have made the final weigh-in. The fish measured 35".
