  DECEMBER - 2008  
 
 
  • Here is a calico buck that a hunter got over in WI. He sent pictures to a bunch of people to see what he could get, and the owner of Cabela's paid him $13,000 for the head and hide. A calico buck is rarer than an albino!

  • Here is Barry Bruner with a beast, yes pig, of a Northern Pike. This 40 in. 14.8 lb. monster was caught Sun. Dec. 28th. on a rosy red perch minnow about 20 ft. down from the slip bobber. Barry carefully landed this whopper on shore with 6 lb. test line just north of Watkins in Seneca Lake. Here's another pic. It's headed for the taxidermist right now!

  • Nate Lameroux with a nice 10 point buck about 185 lbs taken on the last day of final muzzleloader season. After that you need a truck to get one!!

  • Ben Dickens with with his European style skulls 200 lb. 8 pt. with a bow, and a 160lb. 8 pt. with a gun

  • Gloria Billings was lucky this year to have this buck come in the field early opening morning. He was running with a doe. Gloria able to get him before he got out of the field. It was raining and a little foggy that morning.

  • John Marsh with a nice eight point he shot during the first week of shotgun, near our house in Hector just outside of Valois.

  • Here's Steve Grzezdzinski with a 13lb Laker he caught at the Falls Park on Cayuga!

  • Jeremy Munroe 17 of Hector, shot his first gun buck on 11/30. He's a nice 8 point with a 17-3/4" inside spread and weighed in at 172 pounds!

  • Travis Phoenix with a 9 point. Not bad for the first one!

  • Here's Rich Pike with this deer taken at Texas Hollow on 11/23. Rich says he enjoys checking the honor roll often to see others success stories.

  • Dave and Mike were down-rigging Sunday when they landed this nice 20 in. trout.

  • Here a nice deer John Wilson brought down while bow hunting!

      OCTOBER - 2008  
     
     
  • Dave Baranyk with a nice 20" lake trout caught near the south end of Seneca Lake on 10/30.

  • This is one of the fish Dan got in late October. It turned out to be a good day at Catherine Creek!

  • Bob and I took Jim out to try to find his equipment that he lost when he flipped his boat on 10/24/08. We did not find any thing. The day was not a total lost, Jim ended up with this nice mid 30’s fish. Hopefully this is his 1st musky of many more to come. This fish was caught on an X-Rap, Bunker color on the west side of Waneta Lake.

  • Ed Cragg has caught 57 muskies this year out of Waneta. All fish have been caught on X-Raps! Here's more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and oh my God ... more!

  • Brad Johns shot this buck on the second day of season. It was a six point and it weighed in at 140 lbs. He shot it with Eastman 100 grain broadheads. It busted through both shoulders and he only went 50 yds and piled.

  • Richie shot this beautiful deer yesterday with his bow. Three hours later, when he went to retrieve his trophy he discovered the coyotes had already eaten away 1/2 of the deer!

  • On 10-18-08, the opener for bow season, Rick Marion drew down and shot this beautiful 10 pt. buck with his Forge bow. This monster weighed in at 225 and had a 21" outside spread! Terminator broad heads strike again. Nice shooting Rick!!!

  • On the morning of 10-17-08, Harold Gerow caught this nice stringer of Bass out of Otisco Lake on live sawbellys. Nice mix, Harold!

  • Here's Rick Allington with the salmon he caught and released over by the painted rocks. The blood is his from the hook.

      SEPTEMBER - 2008  
     
     
  • Dave, Phil, and Mike were down-rigging Sunday when Mike pulled this nice 4.5lb lake trout in. Dave netted it, and Phil ate it. Everyone made out!

  • Here are two pictures from Ed Cragg and friends. Ed had to break in a couple of new musky hunters Saturday. They both ended up with fish their first day out. Got them on x-raps. Here's the second photo.

  • Here are two pictures from Jamieson Crast, Jared Crast and Eric Davis this past weekend. It was the youth duck hunt weekend in the area where my roommate lives, so my roommate and I brought his younger brother out. It was overlapped with goose season so we shot some geese while his brother shot at ducks. We ended the day with 7 geese and one mallard. The second photo is of my first banded goose. It was banded in Connecticut in 2005. All the birds were taken by Mannsville, NY.

  • Ed Cragg with this beautiful 32" Musky, caught on a cold Saturday morning in Waneta Lake, using a silver Challenger!

  • Here's Bill English with a 9lb & a 6lb lakers caught on copper line. Both were released.

  • Ed Cragg with yet ANOTHER fish from Waneta Lake, caught with an X-Rap Rapala. This guy needs his own Honor Roll page! Nice one, Ed!

  • Bill English with a 30", 10.2lb and a 27", 8lb lake trout caught while trolling at 100' with Sutton Spoons!

  • Ed Cragg (oh my God - yes .... again) with a 40” and a 46" that went 35lbs both on X-Raps Monday 9/1, the other two (here, and here) were on challengers first thing Thursday morning 8/25. Lost one at boat trying to take picture, 58”+ had to go 45lbs?

  • Chad Matwiejow, Ritchie Matwiejow, Joe Matwiejow, and Brad Johns with the fish they caught on Lake Ontario. Good job, fellas!

  • Apparently, Sean Brown at ReelHookedUp Charters has no trouble putting clients on fish with regularity....This is his 3rd? 4th? pic post this summer!!! (And I think WE sent them your way, huh?) Great Job, Sean!!!

  • Bill English with a REAL nice lake trout out of Seneca Lake. (here's another one.)

  • Ed Cragg caught this one at 7:54 AM at the north end of Waneta. 36” musky using a silver challenger. Ended up with two fish Saturday. The other one was 20”. That makes my total this year at 37 muskies in the boat.

  • Fred Tucker and his catch-o-the-day!

  • Phil Smock got this one while down-rigging on Seneca Lake. Nice one, Phil!

  • This man and his 6 year old son caught this 40 incher!

  • Ed Cragg with a big one 48” 25lbs. X-Rap Papala, ended up with five fish Saturday. Lost three. More, more, and even more still!

  • Ed Cragg caught this beautiful 46" 18 lb. Muskie at Waneta Lake on 8-2-08, using a jointed X-Rap...Great fish, Ed!!! Great fish!!!

  • Eric Davis caught this bass on July 3rd at Ltttle Lake on a white Trophy Scumfrog in heavy cover. It weighed a hair under 5 pounds on my digital scale.

  • Eric Davis caught this 2nd bass on July 8th at Ltttle Lake on a white Trophy Scumfrog in heavy cover. It weighed 4.75 pounds on my digital scale.

      JUNE - 2008  
     
     
  • Chris Broadwell caught this 25" football brown trout June 10, 2008 just north of Peach Orchard Point on Senca Lake, drifting a Hemlock Spinner by Sutton Spoons with a night crawler on the hook.

  • Brad Johns and his best friend Josh were fishing friday at a private pond where he casted underneath a tree down in the water and caught this respectable 3.6 lb. largemouth bass. The fish was released back into the pond. Nice going Brad!

  • Mike and Jason Timms with a 5lb and 8lb lakers caught outside Brubaker wall on 6-20-08

  • This young lady caught her first big pike. It weighed a respectable 7 lbs. Niiiiiicccceeee!!!!

  • Brandon Williams was at it again the night of 6-22-08. It seems that he, Drake, and Bellows all went out for a night of sheepsheading up near motezuma and picked up 59! He had 10 just like this one in the bag I saw, and he said they also caught 9-10 carp, up to 30 lbs!!! Good night Brandon!!!

  • Ryan Muller with a carp he shot with a bow Saturday morning in the swamp/marsh.

  • Dave Field Sunday 6/21, done by one just under 20lbs of lake trout including this one!

  • This monster weighed in at 13.9 lbs!!! It was caught by Reel Hooked Up Charters!

  • Tom Marsh with a nice Seneca lake smallmouth, caught during the catch and release season only last weekend. It weighed 4.3 pounds and was caught on a brown plastic grub with a 1/4 ounce jig head.

  • Me and my dad and the lake trout we caught in the Belhurst hole on the north end of Seneca lake. One was 9.5 pounds and the other one was 9!

  • Tara and Jim Ameigh were bowfishing on 6-9-08, when they put a glass arrow through this 27-1/2 lb 34" carp here in Watkins Glen. Nice shooting!!!

  • Brandon Williams caught this lovely 5-1/2lb Northern off the public pier here in Watkins Glen. Nice fish, Brandon!!!

  • Drake & Bellows were at it again, fishing the Watkins Glen pier and limiting with this great stringer of Pike (23-26 lbs) on 6-13-08 as well. What a day!!!

  • Eric Davis with his first bass from Little Lake this year. He caught it on a Strike King Lizard on June 5th after school. It was a little over 2 pounds but was a good fish to have as the first of the year!

  • Mr. Hess with a nice 6.5lb laker caught while pulling copper at the southern tip of Seneca Lake.

  • Lloyd States caught this nice laker the morning of 6-5-08, on a green twin minnow pulling copper near the salt plant. It weighed in at a very respectable 7.5 lbs. Great morning Lloyd!!!

  • Dale McPherson caught these lakers fishing bottom off the public pier with his brother Shayne. The biggest is a nice 4 lb., and all were over 18". Good Morning Dale!!!

  • Shayne McPherson caught this 3 lb. laker fishing on the bottom with sawbellys right off the public pier here in Watkins Glen while fishing with his brother, Dale. Nice fish, Shayne!!!

  • John Whipple caught this nice 28" 6.5 lb laker near the upper salt plant, flatlining a sawbelly rig about 55' deep, 30 ' off the bottom, fishing with his friend Thurman. Nice one John!!!

  • Dave Baranyk caught this excellent 4.14lb, 23in landlocked Salmon on the first day of the Lake Trout Derby!

  • Mr. Depue muzzel loaded this Tom turkey on 5/6/08. It weighed 18-1/2 lbs and had an 8-1/2" beard with 3/4" spurs. Nice shooting!

  • Who says Seneca Lake doesn't have good trout anymore? Just look at these beauties!!!

  • These local guys are in all the time...and catching stringers of Pike like this, they should be!!!

  • These two think suckers taste great pickled!!!

  • Ray Fleming caught this nice 4 1/2 lb. Laker outside the breakwall trolling a Rapala early on 5/5/08. Nice fish Ray!!!

  • Greg Cooper called in this 18 lb. 12 oz. Tom with a D & D box call 1/2 & 1/2. He shot it with his 12 Ga. 3 1/2" #5 heavy shot out by Catherine. 7/8" spurs and a 9 1/2" beard tell you it was a good sized bird without even seeing it! Nice shot, Greg!!!

  • Brandon Williams took this nice turkey on 5-9-08, and a fine gobbler he was, at just over 18 lbs. Calling well, Brandon!!!

  • Charles Butler had a good morning on 5-18-08 when he landed this nice Brown...Good morning, Charles!!!

  • Drake and Bellows pulled this nice stringer of bullheads out on May 6,2008. Stringer count and weight are 39 fish and 45-50 lbs. Nice work guys!!!

  • Jeremy Munroe, 17 of Hector shot this nice Tom while hunting with his Dad on May 3rd in the Hector area. The bird weighed in at 18 1/2 pounds, had a 9 1/2" beard and 1" spurs!

  • Thomas Rockwell put the smack-down on this Jake during the youth season.

  • Dave Baranyk, with a nice 4lb lake trout caught on a Fire Tiger, while down-rigging!

      APRIL - 2008  
     
     
  • Brandon Swartz with a tom turkey that weighed 16lb. 8oz, with 1 inch spurs and a 9 inch beard. He got it in the Burdett area while using a mouth call on 04-27-08.

  • Bobby Depue with a 22lb. 10 oz. tom turkey shot on 4/26! It had 1 inch spurs and a 9.5 inch beard. It was called in using a Primos mouth call.

  • Mark Houck with 3 nice lakers that he got on 4/24 while pulling copper on the southern end of Seneca Lake.

  • Robert Pullizzi with a couple of nice fish caught while trolling in front of the salt plant on 4/19/08.

  • John Whipple with a 28in. 6lb laker caught on 4/19/08 while pulling copper.

  • In the first 15 minutes of fishing Dave Baranyk hooked this 22" 4 3/4 lb. lake trout, 10 minuntes later this 24" 5 1/2 pounder using Fire Tiger lures, on the west side of Seneca Lake. Great fishing!!!

  • Steve Granger snagged a pair of lake trout using Fire Tiger lures, on the west side of Seneca Lake. Way to go!!!

  • Dave Baranyk caught this lake trout, using Fire Tiger lures, on the west side of Seneca Lake. This fish put up lots of fight!!!

  • This is WHY perch fishing is big here at Seneca Lake. This passel of perch is an average stringer here when the bite is on, and the smallest of these is 9"! Pretty sure the biggest went 15" and almost 2 lbs.!!!

  • Our friend Butch caught this beauty of a rainbow on 4-3-08, and had 2 more just a bit smaller. He was fishing an unnamed creek somewhere up the east side of Seneca Lake. Great day, Butch!!!

  • Russell Lewis was drifting egg sacs in Catherine Creek on the morning of 4-6-08, when he caught these 2 nice rainbows. The bigger one is 22 1/2" and 4 1/2 lbs. I'm thinkin' those'll make a nice lunch! Nice catch, Russell!!!

  • Doug Trenchard had a twin minnow on while pulling copper in Cayuga Lake on 4-5-08, about 70' down. This pretty 10 1/2 lb. brown trout nabbed it just off of Interlaken Beach.Not saying its better than beach blanket bingo, but it'll do, Doug, it'll do!!!

  • Dick Smith caught this gorgeous 27 1/2", 9 1/2 lb male rainbow right over in the canal at Clute Park on 4-3-08, on a nightcrawler. Beautiful fish, Dick!!!

  • John Laughlin was drifting egg sacs on 4-5-08 in Catherine Creek up in Pine Valley, NY when this beautiful 10 lb. 1 oz., 28" female rainbow slammed it. She was still hard with eggs, so the trout run ain't over yet, folks!!! Ginourmous!!!

  • Jacob Wallace caught this whopper of a land-locked Salmon on opening day of trout season, off the public pier at Watkins Glen with a Rosie Red minnow. The fish is approximately 30" long and an incredible 8 lbs.!!! Great catch on 4 lb. test, Jacob!!! I'm jealous!!!

  • Opening day wasn't a bust for Greg, here, who did manage to land this nice brown trout early in the day...nice one, Greg!

  • Brandon Williams hooked this 24" 5 1/2 lb. land locked Salmon on a Kastmaster spoon off the pier on the southside of Seneca Lake. Great afternoon!!!

  • C.J. McLean picked up this nice 8 lb. rainbow on a Daredev'l spoon off the shoreline of Seneca Lake's south shore around 10:00. Great morning, C.J.!!!

  • Nick DeNunzio and Renee Backus had no idea the day before when buying their tackle, here at Seneca Marine, that the very next day they would catch these beautiful Steelies, 4.5 and 9 lbs. What a week!!!

  • Check out my brother John Marsh with this nice Pike! it measured 40 inches, weighed 20 pounds, and had a girth of 20 inches!!! We caught it on Seneca lake trolling with rapala deep divers.

  • A little snow didn't keep 'ole Pete here from fishing on the main public pier in Watkins Glen....He caught this 30+ lb. stringer of Pike in just over an hour, the morning of 2-13-08, swimming a green jig. The smallest is over 4.5 lbs, and the largest bigger than 8.5! Good morning, Pete!
